Empowering Educational Leaders

The Educational Leader Role

Educational Leadership is a critical role for any OSHC service and is a regulatory requirement. Services must designate a suitably qualified and experienced person to lead the development and implementation of educational programs at the service. There are no specific details on what it means in practice. Consequently, the role of the Educational Leader looks and is enacted differently across the sector; as it should.

Services often search for greater clarification on what is required of this role and how to navigate the many ways it can be enacted. At QCAN we explicitly understand the nature and complexity of the Educational Leader role in OSHC and have purposefully designed this professional development program to support and empower both experienced and emergent Educational Leaders to understand and enact their role with confidence.

The Approved Provider has obligations within Element 7.2.2 of the National Quality Standard to support the Educational Leader. This development program is an important way to demonstrate their commitment to this essential role.
